|Sooo this was my final assignment for my Painting II class last semester. In a nutshell, my professor gave each student a pre-existing painting and had us do variants of it. The entire multi-part assignment was inspired by the film 'The Five Obstructions.' Google it. It's really cool. My assigned painting was 'Ariadne' by Giorgio de Chirico. In the final part of the assignment, we were instructed to re-do the painting as if it were painted today in a way that the original painter could not have painted it originally. So I went section by section of the original work, updating each area with themes or visuals that are often seen today. I had so much fun working multiple nights on this and I hope you enjoy it too!|
